D. hung out...
D. hung out with fucked up characters...Christopher Shamus was one...a schizo with a christ complex...forever tormented...he was uncompromising though and stayed to his vision until he snapped and lost his faith, taking his life one night...Yeti Jones was another one...an actor in his youth, he spent the better part of days drinking beer and cleaning up the fire pit near the river...

journey into the night...
D. walked down by the West Side highway at night..this area had changed greatly from his youth...back in that day if you walked here you had better be prepared to fight for your life...now upscale yuppies finely tuned their bodies jogging on the hudson river park path...influenced by Celine D. wanted to see how far he could take it out into the night, a metaphor for the imagination...

in the night alone walking admist the debris of broken dreams ...it's a long way from my hippie days when I believe in communty and we would change the world into a beautiful garden...oh, how we used to speak then about what we were going to do....the night would come and crush those dreams or perhaps more accurately reveal the darkness which was always in our souls...we were just to young to admit it...now the cars go rushing by unaware of the environment by them...

Chistopher Shamus
D. knew a lot of strange people...a lot of them were dead...others almost dead...many thought D. should be dead...but he wasn't....Christopher Shamus was one of the strange characters who he knew who was now dead. Shamus lived in his own imaginary world where sometimes he thought he was Christ and other times the devil...D. never knew which personality he was going to find.,,,this uncertainity gave him inspiration for the radio dream which was a meditation on identiy...
