time was immortal once...grand visions of a grand destiny filled my imagination...poetry throiugh the Greeley woods...magic in the late night walks through the abandoned sleeping down...an occassional car on the saw mill...telliing time by the train...before the years of neglect and self abuse ground the magic into nothing...accept a thought...they are gone now...bowie, roger, others..bowie would never have lasted in this digital world...it would have been so alien to him...I can still remember driinking with him and Eddite down at Chuck's deli which is now a Dunkin Donuts...we were outside the movie detached into our own madness, a sublime beauty of a strange dream...Roger could not make it this world...the greed, apathy and ignorance drove him over the edge to take his own life...looking back it now, Im surprised he lasted as long as he did...he did give a valiant try although he was doomed from the onset...
